Method Seven Grow Room Sunglasses Method Seven glass lenses were developed so people who work under High Pressure Sodium Lighting (HPS) can protect their eyes and see natural colors. HPS lights are the most efficient and powerful light sources on the market for growing indoor plants. However, because these lights make everything look yellow, it is nearly impossible to evaluate the well being of plants when viewed under this lighting. Using Method Seven lenses you can see the natural colors of plants being grown under HPS Lighting conditions. There are also benefits for glass blowers in some applications (when light intensity isn't too high).

Technology

Incredibly, our proprietary Rendition lens technology performs two miracles. First, blocking the harsh yellow light emitted from High Pressure Sodium lighting - found in most grow rooms. Secondly, the remaining portion of the light spectrum is re-adjusted in the lens to create white balanced light. See in perfect color under HPS lighting - work unconstrained.

Find yourself constantly squinting in the grow room? Overtime constant exposure to high levels of UV and infrared radiation leads to irreparable eye damage. Including the loss of color perception, cataracts, and the destruction of your night vision. Our Rendition lens blocks all harmful invisible wavelengths. Including UVA, UVB, UVC and Infrared wavelengths. Your plants require these invisible wavelengths to flourish. Your eyes certainly don?t.

Your brain automatically attempts to compensate any color imbalances. Under HPS lighting the green you see is not green but is interpreted by your brain to be green. This is why after longer periods of time working in under the harsh yellow light the intensity of the yellow light dulls. Our optics render the grow room in true color freeing your brain from making this color compensation. A less strained brain equals less fatigue. Less fatigue equals better decision-making and a pleasant experience in your grow room.

Most important is the ability to see the natural colors of your plants. Monitor plant health, determine correctly the color of your plant leaves, spot pests, disease, rot, mildews, mineral deficiencies and excesses. The Rendition lens reveals color precisely enough to use a PH test strip while in the grow room. All without turning your HPS lighting off or walking your plants, or your testing equipment into daylight.

Trust us, the Rendition lens is like an oasis for your brain, a savior for your crop, your eyes, and protection for your investment. If you are not blown away by the experience, you can return them within 30 days for a full refund.

How Method Seven Glasses Work

Our color rendition is measured with a very precise test. Read on if you find testing procedures and tech gibberish interesting.

Method Seven uses a precise color test to measure the effectiveness of our Rendition lens. Our gear: a Canon 5D Mark II (CAMERA) with a 100mm 2.8 macro L series lens (LENS) and a X-Rite Digital Color Checker to confirm color balance. The Digital Color Checker is a chart full of colored blocks where each block has a known and established numeric value. Each numeric value is a recipe for a very precise color specification. For example grey is a specific numeric formulation of grey with a precise color value.

To understand the test procedure, a very basic understanding of digital photography is required. A digital image composes every pixel from measurements of Red, Green, and Blue color values. Otherwise known as RGB. Digital color is determined by how much of each of the RGB values register from 0 to 255 in the digital imaging application Photoshop. For example R=0, B=0, G=0 the pixel is black. Conversely R=255, B=255, G=255, the pixel is white.

Underneath White balanced light the middle grey value is R=160 G=160 B=160. The numeric value of grey defined by the color chart. Taking a photo of the color chart in HPS lighting the camera registers the same middle grey color value R=255 G=200 B=48, which is not grey. More like a harsh yellowish/redish color.

Now place our incredible Rendition lens in front of the camera lens of our Canon 5D Mark II and take the same color chart photo in HPS lighting, and as they say in France, Voila! Underneath the harsh yellow HPS lighting with the Rendition lens in front of the camera, the grey in the color chart reads R=160 G=160 B=160. The same as prescribed by the color chart.

Unequivocally, the Rendition lens blocks, filters, alters, transforms, flips the yellow/red light from HPS lighting into natural white light. Now you can accurately evaluate leaf and flower health. You can work comfortably and safely. Read your ph strip meter without moving outside. Work in your grow room like never before in perfect color.
Will Method Seven Glasses work outdoors?

Yes! You can wear your Method Seven's outdoors too! Method Seven Rendition Technology blocks and completely protects your eyes from all harmful UVA/UVB light . Our glasses are appropriate to wear outdoors under any conditions which you choose. The lenses in "The Resistance" model glasses filter out less visible spectrum light than most medium and dark sunglass lenses which means they are a great choice for lower light conditions, like mountain biking in the fog, or skateboarding in the early morning, but they may not be your first choice for snowboarding on a sunny day when conditions are super bright.
Manufacturing

Our precision glass is melted and molded in Germany. The resulting molded lenses are ground, polished, cut and hardened in Italy. Our frames are made in Italy. Final assembly of glasses into frames is also done in Italy. Packaging of glasses, carry case, wiping cloth, and boxes is done in Italy or in Santa Cruz, California.
Safety Standards

Method Seven glasses meet or exceed international safety tests for optical quality, clarity, breakage and UV protection.

Caring For Your Glasses

Your Method Seven optics are formulated from German glass, including the the proprietary patented rare earth element formulation called Rendition Technology. Your glasses are best cleaned with warm water and a drop of dish soap, however any commercially available glass cleaner will work. We do not recommend using paper towels, paper tissues, or your t-shirt as these may scratch the glass. A mirco-fiber clean cloth was provided with your glasses. This material or something similar is the best materials for cleaning the surface of your lenses.
